April 24, 2011 Anantasamakom Throne Hall, Bangkok
Anandasamakom Throne Hall was once used as the parliament house. This marble building is influenced by Italian architecture. It is surely a fun sketch site due to its beautiful details. I will definitely go back there to draw again.

April 19, 2011 Chiang Khan, Loei
Chiang Khan is a small town in Loei province — North Eastern Thailand. This town on the Khong River is becoming more and more famous in the last few years for its slow/laid-back atmosphere. It has become undeniably a bit touristy now. Along its main road that runs parallel to the river, this particular house is the only house which is not turned into a guest house. (But what can i say? I am already one of its tourists.)

April 19, 2011 Row House, Khon Kaen, Thailand
This is my aunt’s house in Chumpae, KhonKaen. It’s an old thai-style wooden building. Not a traditional Thai house but we cannot find so many of this anymore, especially in big cities. I guess this kind of house is chinese-influenced. It may came with the market— when we Thais started to do serious commercial business. The lower floor is normally used as a store, any kind of it. From left to right, a stationary, a book rental and a tailor’s shop.

January 22, 2011 Breakfast in Chiangmai
The ticket lady must have remembered it wrong when she said the bus would arrive at Mae Kha, a small district in a Thai mountain area, around 6 am. The night bus actually reached the place at 4 pm in a quite-dark early winter morning. I found my self in a small coffee shop–more like a kiosk with chairs. The coffee lady was very kind so that she got me a warm Milo, tea and egg and let me sit there until the sun came.
It was a work trip to the the very north of the already northern province, Chiangmai. The destination of that day was the First Royal Factory Museum, where the story of Thailand’s Royal Project was exhibited.

January 22, 2011 Bird’s Nest Fern: เฟิร์นข้าหลวง
Lately, so much inspiration was found in drawing leaves and flowers. This particular fern is in my house. My mom must have gotten it from my uncle.
